Sanctuary Trust has welcomed UK Prime Minister Andy Burnham’s pledge to end rough sleeping, saying it provides an opportunity for Jersey to have more honest conversations about homelessness, inequality and housing insecurity on the Island.
In an interview with Bailiwick Express, CEO Sarah Tumelty highlighted the often-hidden nature of homelessness in Jersey and stressed that, without the support of Sanctuary Trust and other homelessness services, the reality would look very different. The article also highlights Sanctuary Trust’s upcoming Sleep Out on 13th November 2026, which aims to raise £50,000 to support men experiencing homelessness and housing insecurity in Jersey.
