Terms and Conditions for our Walk into Light
By taking part in our Walk into Light fundraising event, you agree to the following terms and conditions. Please read these fully before you take part.
Registration
You can only take part if you have registered. There will be a registration desk at the event. Please report to the desk on arrival.
Fundraising commitment
There is no commitment to fundraise for this event, but we hope participants will endeavour to collect even a small amount of fundraising for the charity.
Personal health
It is your responsibility to ensure that you are healthy enough to take part. If in doubt, please take advice from your medical practitioner.
We strongly advise you to dress appropriately for the event (warm and water-proof clothing and suitable walking shoes) and to bring water and a torch.
Personal safety and security
During the event, you are responsible for your own safety and security. You must agree to take reasonable care not to compromise other participants’ safety and security.
Age limits
Under-16s may only participate with our prior agreement and must be accompanied by their parent or guardian at all times.
There is no maximum age limit but participants over the age of 65 years are advised to seek advice from their medical practitioner before taking part.
Animals
Service animals e.g. Guide Dogs and well-behaved dogs may be brought to the event, but we ask you to keep them on a lead. Any dog that mis-behaves will need to leave the event.
Personal belongings
We accept no responsibility for loss or damage to your personal belongings during the event. We strongly advise you not to bring valuables or delicate technology with you.
Event organisers
You must follow all instructions and directions from event organisers, marshals or any others who are working or volunteering at the event on behalf of Sanctuary Trust. If you do not, you may be asked to leave the event site.
Media consent
Unless you explicitly advise us otherwise, by taking part in our Walk into Light event, you give Sanctuary Trust permission to use your name, photograph, voice or likeness, in any broadcast, advertising promotion, social media content, e-mail marketing or other account of this event, as well as marketing or promotion for future/similar events.
Code of Conduct
Participants need to adhere to our Code of Conduct for the Walk into Light.
Cancellation
We reserve the right to cancel or alter the event without notice.
Disclaimer for our Walk into Light
Sanctuary Trust does not accept responsibility and expressly excludes liability to the fullest extent permitted by law for:
- personal injury suffered caused by taking part in the Walk into Light.
- any loss or damage to any personal property/belongings during the Walk into Light.

In the unlikely event that the Walk into Light is cancelled or postponed due to circumstances beyond our control, we cannot be held responsible for any costs incurred by those taking part in the event.
There may be a photographer present and there may be press coverage of the event. By participating, we will presume that you give tacit permission for us to use any photos you appear in on our website, social media or for promotional/profile raising purposes.
Any children under 16 years who wish to take part must be accompanied by an adult at all times.
Any information provided before the event is for guidance only.
The trustees and management of Sanctuary Trust remind participants that they take part in this event at their own risk.
