About Sanctuary Trust: 

Sanctuary Trust was set up in 2011 to provide accommodation and support to men who are experiencing hardship and homelessness. We support up to 30 residents across our three facilities in St Aubin, Beaumont and New Street.  

We do not receive government funding and rely solely on public donations, fundraising and grants from charitable trusts and foundations.

General overview of the role: 

We are looking for a volunteer to provide maintenance support across our three properties. Primarily based at Sanctuary House in St Aubin, this role will also work at our other facilities at Beaumont and New Street.

Typical duties will involve meeting contractors, carrying out regular inspections, producing a checklist and passing any actions onto the relevant staff.

Main responsibilities:

  • Carries out inspections of all our facilities, following a checklist and updating any actions
  • Assists with meeting contractors if applicable if works are being carried out
  • Moves items across sites if required
  • Carries out weekly fire alarm tests.

You need to have a flexible approach and be willing to work as part of a team. You will also need to be prepared to adapt your duties in line with any changes in work practices and undertake other ad hoc duties as requested.

We undertake DBS checks for all employees and volunteers and require a minimum of two references.
